The crazy gang came over to help make fairy cakes this afternoon. Mr Charlie was master of the recipe and co-ordinated us all. He became an expert lemon zester and made lemon icing for his batch of cakes - which were delicious according to DBFB.
Miss Daisy and Miss Evie were not to be outdone. Miss Daisy cracks eggs like professional chef and is a vigorous and excitable siever. Miss Evie is an excellent folder of flour and decorated her cakes with confidence and flair.
All produced 'exceedingly good cakes'. (These are Mr Charlie's below.)
Whilst we were baking, Mr R was sent to the supermarket for the crazy gang's weekly shop. Armed with a list from Miss Daisy he was sent out for shepherds pie, gammon, tuna bake, shag bol and hot boys. Disappointingly, the shag bol and hot boys had been replaced with spag bol and hot dogs. Maybe next time...
We are already planning our next baking session. Miss Daisy has suggested cookies and chocolate cake. Mr Charlie has suggested profiteroles - advanced but rather exciting. So watch this space. Or baking tray!
